Content Development

Content is King. Plan for anything, and I would plan for content, because that is number one with the search spiders. Why have a website if it isn't informative and helpful? Search engine spiders think so too.

There are many ways that you can convey a message about you or your company. It can be broken down into different groups and therefore, we can create web pages based on those ideas. Content can range from product descriptions, service descriptions, industry related articles to press releases and/or company history. Don't worry, Brilliant Design will help to outline content for your web site, based upon research of your business and research of your competitors.

To ensure that web sites include content that is not only friendly to search engine spiders, but also appeals to the ultimate audience we suggest that including any of the following items on your web site could provide relevant content for both search engines and end users:

Press Releases
FAQs
Articles
Blogs
Directory Listings
Glossaries

Using analytics as a way to determine what types of content you should include on your site is also a good method to use. It is often possible to determine what your visitors are looking for by combing through server logs, paying close attention to the most popular paths through the site. Also, analyze your customer service requests to determine areas where your site content could be more robust. Look through internal site search tools to see what keywords web users are typing once they reach your site. These words can trigger ideas that can lead to new content. When writing articles, create short articles of 200-300 words and use catchy titles in order to get users reading. Write about seasonal topics and create content about basic subjects so that those unfamiliar with an industry can learn more about it.

Think About...
Not that we are clever, but an example of site optimization is found on this page. If you know how to read code, take a look at the source for the top bar navigation. We have externalized the roll-over style of the button as a css style sheet. What you get is a roll-over look that is searchable by the search engine spiders, it loads quickly and you don't see anything but a reference to a style - no java, no mouseOver - clean unbloated code.
